We stumbled upon this place when visiting Annapolis and wanted to eat TexMex! I found the service to be awesome! The food was delicious and we asked for spicy and were amazed by the taste.
I really recommend this place. Loved the ambiance and setup!! -

I stopped here with a friend after catching a movie.
Once we walked in we were warmly greeted and promptly seated.
The decor of this place is very nice. Tropical meets nostalgic Americana decor.
The waitress was very friendly and warm.
Complimentary chips and moderately spicy salsa are served.
The menu is pretty easy to follow. Tex Mex standards are available: tacos, guacamole, queso, fajitas, burritos, etc.
We ordered the following:
-Queso-was not good. Missing a creamy texture and the spices fell short of my expectation
-Guac- very good. Fresh, flavorful, and tasty
-Soft, Guacamole Tacos-was not impressed. I toasted shells, sloppy crafted, bland
-Charro Beans (vegetarian) & Mexican Rice- served as a side. By far the star of my plate! Delicious beans reminiscent of chili
-soft steak tacos- were served as ground beef which was very disappointing.
Overall, the ambiance was great but the food did not match the decor's effort.
Three stars for location, great customer service, and memorable decor.
Might return to try out their Happy Hour drink specials. -

I had previously discovered this restaurant chain when I was visiting Florida on business. I really like the concept of the open trunk (of a Chevy) appetizer bar during Happy Hour(s). The salsa was really, really good and fresh. My wife enjoyed the jalapeno ranch dressing for her dip and dressing. We left after several beers and a couple of margaritas to join another group at another restaurant.
We were very surprised and very excited to see that a Chuy's was opening in Annapolis, MD. We dined there a handful of times and invited our friends to join us there; all was good.
I travel quite a bit for business and I would often land in MD hungry to get a bite to eat. I would ask my wife to meet me and gain some quality time after being apart. Chuy's was a regular destination for those meetings. We met there a few months ago and at the bar, as usual when it is just the two of us. The barmaid was not that busy (the two of us at the bar and another couple in the bar arear) but seemed overwhelmed non-the-less. We had our appetizers and a couple of drinks and were looking to order more drinks and dinner to go. We were patient but after twenty minutes of her appearing to make a drink or two only to disappear again to the backroom or elsewhere, I was extremely agitated. I tried to get her attention when she would re-appear, but she totally ignored us.
After her third sighting in 30 minutes and without contact, we decided to just leave. I dropped $20 on the bar to more than pay for our drinks and moved to the hostage stand to request the manager and explained briefly our grievance. The hostess left to get the attention of the manager and simultaneously the barmaid suddenly acknowledged our existence and asked us to pay our bill. We notified the barmaid that we paid our bill and then some; if she would finally look that way. She then listened to our grievance to the manager and offered a free drink, on her. We declined. The manager offered a free meal and we declined. We were not complaining to receive a free anything. We were complaining because it is unheard of, in the service industry, to totally ignore patrons for more than 30 minutes, when not busy and especially when seated at the bar.
I am sorry it has taken me months to write this review. I honestly still like their salsa and my wife loves their jalapeno ranch dressing. I may go there again after I cool off and if that barmaid is gone. Time will tell... -

I think the opening of Uncle Julio's had taken the bloom off this rose. That said, help yourself chips at Happy Hour in the bar is still nice though it's not refreshed properly. This could drive business if they kept it fresh.
The Elvis chicken was ok but the boom boom chicken and sauce is worthy reason to visit and repeat. Still good though -

So what can I say, Chuy's just happens to be my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in the whole wide world!!!! I grew up eating at various locations in Texas and have always based my love for Tex-Mex on Chuy's and their menu.
Things to try: First of all, they have the best chips ever. The salsa may not be the best in the land, but it is fresh. MUST TRY: you must try the creamy jalapeno dip with the chips. Once you try it you will be hooked.
Most of the entries are awesome, but if you see something that you might want to modify on the menu (substitute different meats) just ask. My favorite is the Elvis Presley Special. It is three different enchiladas, a tostato, taco, and beans and rice. Yum, Be advised that you can choice between re-fried beans and charro beans, and Mexican rice and green chili rice. Go for re-fried beans and green chili rice.
The fajitas are on point also, the portion size is usually engouf for leftovers for the next day.
